Orsha. Vladimir Korotkevich Museum.
We know Orsha not only as an ancient and beautiful city, but it is also the birthplace of the brilliant Belarusian writer and poet Vladimir Semyonovich Korotkevich (1930 - 1984). The writer's museum is located in a pre-revolutionary brick building of civil architecture on one of the city's central streets. Since 1925, a maternity hospital was opened in this building, and it was in this maternity hospital that Vladimir Korotkevich was born on November 26, 1930.
The exposition of the museum is located in 2 halls under the name "Portrait of a writer and a man". Part of the exhibition is occupied by the reconstruction of Korotkevich 's office in Minsk. Many things were donated to the museum by the relatives of Vladimir Semyonovich: furniture, books, documents and photographs.
The scientific research center of Korotkevich works at the museum, where you can hear recordings of the writer's voice, watch feature films based on his scripts, and listen to musical works by Belarusian performers based on poems by V. Korotkevich . First of all, we know the writer from his historical novels "The Wild Hunt of King Stakh" and "The Black Castle of Olshansky", and Korotkevich was still a very good poet and even an artist! The museum was opened until the 70th anniversary of the writer's birth. The museum hosts not only tours, but also lectures, contests and holidays. The modern exposition of the museum will not leave anyone indifferent.
