Orsha. A real school.
The Orshan real school was built in 1906 from red brick in the Art Nouveau style. In 1907-1909, Panteleimon Nikolaevich Lepeshynskyi (1868-1944) worked in this institution - revolutionary, party and public figure, writer. After the revolution, the building served as a secondary school. The famous Belarusian writer Vladimir Korotkevich (1930 – 1984) studied at the school.
If you will inspect this architectural monument, then it is worth going around it and you will see various interesting angles and architectural elements that are not visible from the main facade. The school building is a two-story brick volume with side wings facing the courtyard. P-similar in plan. The main entrance in the center of the building has a small lobby and hallway. From the lobby, a three-step grand staircase leads to the second floor. There is a spacious assembly hall on the second floor. The architectural decor of the school is quite modest and is solved by means of brickwork. Now the gymnasium No. 2 works in the building.
Next to the gymnasium building is the museum of V. Korotkevich and the house where the writer lived.
