A private exhibition dedicated to the work of a talented man, woodcarver S.S. Shavrov.
The opening of the museum of wooden sculpture by the carver Semyon Stepanovich Shavrov took place during the master's lifetime in the house where he lived and worked. This house and the exhibits were donated to the museum for the organization of further exhibitions.
The exhibition includes handmade wooden sculptures by the master, which are unique works of art made of various types of wood.
The main building of the museum is complemented by a workshop with an office where masterpieces of wood carving were created. Not only Shavrov himself worked in this workshop, but also his students, who gained knowledge of wood carving. Master classes in wood carving continue to this day.
At the initial stage, there were only 19 sculptures in the museum, donated to the museum by the author himself. Later, the exhibition was supplemented with a documentary part, including information, photographs from the life of the sculptor, as well as the memories of his students and local residents. The innovation of Shavrov's work made it possible to assemble a unique collection of wooden sculptures, toys and household items, which have no analogues.
There is a "Fairy Glade" in the garden of the museum, where you can admire a variety of sculptural compositions by the author. Interesting works by the master do not leave visitors indifferent. All the sculptures are incredibly lively, emotional and fascinating.
Visiting this museum is an unforgettable experience for all art lovers.
