Minsk. Opera Ballet Theater.
The opera and ballet theater was built according to the project of the famous architect Joseph Langbard. First, an architectural competition was held for the construction of a theater in Minsk, in which famous Soviet architects took part. And initially it was assumed that the building would be built according to the project of architect Georgy Lavrov. But they chose I. Lagbard's option. In June 1933, on the day of the celebration of the liberation of Belarus from the White Poles, the ground-breaking ceremony of the theater building took place on the square of the Paris Commune. According to legend, the place for the theater was chosen by the Belarusian opera singer Larisa Aleksandrovska. The construction of the theater was completed only in 1938. The building is built in the style of Soviet constructivism with some art deco elements. But the theater was built according to a simplified project with minimal decoration and decor. The grand opening took place in May 1939 with the premiere of the opera "Michas Podgorny" by the composer Yevgeny Tikotsky. On the new stage, the first ballet performance with a production by the famous choreographer K. Galeizovsky was "Bakhchisarai Fountain", which opened the new season. After the war, the theater building was restored and modernized several times. The last significant reconstruction took place in 2006-2009, when the building was given the original version of I. Langbard. You can order a tour of the theater building, during which you will visit the stage, behind the scenes, you will also be taken under the stage and told about the technical capabilities of the theater's modern equipment.
