Chelyuskintsev Park of Culture and Recreation is one of the most favorite places of residents of the Belarusian capital and guests of the city.

Until the 18th century, these lands belonged to the princes Radziwills, and from the 18th century until 1918 to the noble family of Vankovich. Previously, a forest area called the Komarovsky Forest was located on the site of the park. Therefore, the name Komarovsky Park was originally encountered. According to the memoirs of the Belarusian writer Frantishk Alekhnovich, the executions of prisoners of the Minsk NKVD prison took place in the Komarovsky forest. In the 1920s and 1930s, the forest was the site of Stalin's repressions. There is a monument to the repressed in the park. In 1952, the Rainbow summer cinema was opened here. During the reconstruction of the park in the early 1990s, it was demolished.

In 1974, the attractions were reconstructed and replaced, including the first roller coaster attraction, then in the BSSR. To date, these attractions have already been dismantled, giving way to more modern ones. In the northeastern part of the park there is a mass grave of soldiers of the Soviet Army, underground workers and civilians killed during the Great Patriotic War.

In 1955, a tombstone and a monument sculpture of a Grieving Mother were installed. In July 2009, at the initiative of the city administration, the sale and drinking of alcoholic beverages and tobacco smoking were prohibited in the park.

The park is divided into several thematic zones: quiet, sports, for children and teenagers, dance, games, administrative and entertainment.

Chelyuskintsev Park, once a forest, is home to many trees. Approximately 22,000 trees grow on its territory. The vegetation in the southern part of the park is very different from the northern one. In its southern part, deciduous trees predominate. From coniferous trees, European larch grows, there are several specimens of cedar. Chestnuts, linden trees, firs, mountain ash and other trees are planted along the main park alleys.

There is a newly organized Tarzania complex in the park - a rope complex at height for children and adults, providing different levels of loads for different categories and ages. All the necessary information about the park is posted on a special stand. There is also a fountain in the park where you can sit and relax from the hustle and bustle of the city. Artists come to the park on weekends. If desired, you can get your own portrait as a souvenir. There is also the only outdoor dance floor in the city on the territory of the park.

Chelyuskintsev Park in Minsk attracts guests of the capital who have chosen a vacation in Belarus. Here you can have a good rest, have fun, admire the forest landscapes, breathe fresh air, listen to birdsong not only for children, but also for adults.
