The windmill in Shaiki is a monument of Dutch folk wooden architecture.
The windmill in the village of Shaiki is an outstanding monument of Dutch folk wooden architecture. Built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it is a unique example of traditional architecture typical of this period.
The mill is made of wood, which highlights the craftsmanship of local artisans and their ability to work with natural materials. The mill's structure includes characteristic Dutch-style elements such as high walls and large blades that effectively use wind power to grind grain.
The cone-shaped four-sided structure is completed with a gable roof. The rear facade has 2 tiers of openings: the upper one for loading grain and the lower one for unloading finished products. A wooden beam with a missing winch for lifting grain sacks is attached to the upper part of the mill. The frame structure of the mill, vertically sheathed with a wooden board, is in poor condition. The wheels, gears, and other mechanisms have not been preserved.
This object not only served practical purposes, but also became an important part of the cultural heritage of the region.
The windmill in Shaiki attracts the attention of tourists and researchers interested in history and architecture, and is also a symbol of the traditional way of life of local residents.
