Lidcon tour: a trip to the taste factory.

Belarusian Lida is home to an enterprise with a rich history and a sweet soul - Lidapishchekoncentraty OJSC, better known as Lidcon. People come here to see how the famous "Khrumstick" (Crumpet) is born - corn sticks, familiar to everyone since childhood.

Established in September 1944 on the ruins of a brewery, the combine began with the main mission - to feed the front. The first products, briquettes of millet porridge and soups, were sent to units of the 3rd Belorussian Front. They worked in three shifts, producing products during the day and restoring workshops at night.

After the war, the range expanded: jelly, jam, marmalade appeared, and in 1967, corn sticks, which became the hallmark of the company. Today, the plant produces more than 150 products under the brands Lidcon, Lida Spices, Tvitnik and, of course, Khrumstick. More than 2 tons of corn sticks are produced here per day, which is 17.5 thousand packs.

Guided tour: immersion in the process.

The tour begins in the museum room, where you can see samples of products from different years - from modest briquettes in parchment to modern bright packages, as well as get acquainted with the 80-year history of the company. Then the guests go to the workshop, where they observe the full cycle of creating corn sticks: from sifting the cereal to turning the mixture under pressure and high temperature in an extruder into airy sticks 3-7 cm long. Glazing syrup is also prepared here, and the sticks acquire their taste in the coating drums - from classic sweet to salted caramel or condensed milk.

The final chord is a tasting of hot products from the heat and a sweet souvenir for each guest. And on the territory of the factory, you can take a photo with a bronze rabbit Khrumstick and a giant art object on a water tower.

Guided tours are available by appointment on weekdays at 9:00, 11:00 and 14:00. Group - from 10 to 25 people, children are allowed from 7 years old. The duration is about an hour.

An excursion to Lidcon is not just an introduction to production, but an opportunity to touch history, see modern high-tech production and, of course, remember the taste of childhood.
