Kopyl. The Regional Museum of Local Lore.

The regional Museum of local lore is located in the very center of Kopyl. An old 19th-century building, where a leather workshop used to work, was transferred to the museum. It was at this tannery that Tishka Gartny (1887-1937), a politician and writer, the first leader of Soviet Belarus, worked.

The museum was established back in Soviet times. The decision to create the museum was made in 1978. The main fund of the museum includes more than 20 thousand exhibits and documents. The exhibition area is about 200 square meters. The museum has several collections: paintings, folk weaving, archeology, icon painting.

The exhibition is located in several halls: "archaeological history of the Kopyl region", "Kopyl village", "Elementary school of the late 19th century", "Ethnography and everyday life of the 19th century", "memorial cabinet of G. M. Golubovich", "Tragedies and feats", "Century XX". The archaeological collection includes unique finds that were discovered during excavations in Kopyl: a surgical knife from the 13th century, a honeycomb from the 13th century, and part of a helmet from the 12th to the 13th century.

A separate exhibition is dedicated to outstanding countrymen. Gennady Mikhailovich Golubov (1934-1992) is an artist and graphic artist from the Kopyl region.

The museum has two branches: the Semezhevo House Museum of the Hero of Belarus Mikhail Vysotsky and the Museum of Ethnography and Everyday Life in the village of Veleshino-1.
