A beautiful functioning church, an architectural monument of late classicism.
The Church of the Holy Trinity was built in 1825 with funds from the owner of the town, Jan Dawojna. It was built of brick on the site of a wooden church, which was founded here back in 1542, and consecrated in honor of the Holy Trinity.
Between 1901 and 1904, a significant reconstruction of the church was carried out: a neo-baroque chapel and a bell tower were added to the façade, and wooden figures of saints were installed in the arched niches. Three wooden altars in the late classical style appeared in the interior of the church, and the walls were decorated with majestic frescoes with biblical scenes. As a result of these changes, the appearance of the church began to combine elements of neo-baroque and neo-classicism.
From 1905 to 1909, the House of Sisters-Nuns operated at the church. The Church of the Holy Trinity is also known for the fact that even in Soviet times, Jesuits served here and the church was not closed. Since 2009, parish priests have served in the church.
This is a very beautiful church, the decoration of which are towers of different heights, a beautiful porch. It is in excellent condition, the building looks very elegant. In the interior, you can look with interest at the biblical scenes under the dome, interesting arched vaults. Within the walls of the temple, on one of the side altars, is kept the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Indura. The territory of the temple is very well maintained: a beautiful stone fence, biblical sculptures, pillars-chapels are located here.
A remarkable fact is that for the Palm Sunday holiday, unique bouquets of willow are skillfully created here, which are decorated with flowers, herbs and ears of corn. This art is recognized as an element of the intangible cultural heritage of Belarus and is protected by the state.
