Subbotniki. The Church of St. Vladislav.
The first church in the Subbotniki was founded in the 15th century. The wooden church was built by King Sigismund I the Old. The next temple was founded by Prince Radziwill. In the 18th century, a wooden church was already being built at the expense of Yuri Abramovich.
Since the beginning of the XIX century, the temple has been taken care of by the nobles of the Umyastovsky family.
There was a school at the church. At the end of the 19th century, Vladislav Umyastovsky and his wife Janina began to build a stone church. The temple was built in the period 1900-1907. During the Second World War, the church was damaged and then restored. In Soviet times, the temple was in operation.
The church was built on the main street of the village of red brick in the Neo-Gothic style. The building is rectangular in plan, covered with a gable roof. Above the entrance there is a three-tiered tower, completed with a high tent. The walls are supported by buttresses, and the window openings have pointed finials. At the end of the 19th century, a stone fence was built around the church, and a gate was erected near the main entrance. The interior of the church is also decorated in a Neo-Gothic style. There is an organ. Unique burials in the crypt of the temple have been preserved to our time. If you ask a local priest, he will definitely open the crypt and tell you a lot of interesting things about the local nobility. In the crypt you will see the coats of arms of the local nobility, lined with colored mosaics.
