The Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Orlya was built in 1867 in the architectural style known as "muravyovka". Unfortunately, there is currently no complete history of the church and the parish.

In 1962, when the Soviet authorities closed the church, the parish house was moved to the village of Yaselevichi, where it became a village club. All documentation was destroyed or stolen. Utensils, books and icons were destroyed or taken away, only a small part was hidden by local residents.

After a long time, the temple building was used by the collective farm to store grain, but after the grain spoilage, the building was abandoned.

It was only in 1990, after numerous appeals, that the authorities allowed the services to resume. Fundraising for major repairs has begun. The people happily began to rebuild the dilapidated temple. Thanks to the efforts of the parishioners, the temple was restored. In the summer of 1992, before the feast of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, the first divine service was held. Divine services continue to this day.

Despite the closure and looting, some shrines were saved, including the Golgotha cross, a gift from residents of the village of Orlya who emigrated to America. Thanks to the perseverance of the parishioners, the Holy Dormition Monastery handed over to the temple a lost relic - an ancient icon of the Vilno martyrs, as well as an icon of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin on canvas.

Recently, the wooden cross, which was taken to St. Petersburg forty years ago, was returned to the temple.

In 2011, the St. Euphrosyne Convent donated to the temple a fragment of the relics of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk.

A Sunday school has been operating at the church since 2007.
