Description

The history of Khoyniki goes back more than five centuries. And until our time, unfortunately, little remains of the old buildings in this cozy district center. The real pearl of the town is the manor-park ensemble of the Avraamov family from the beginning of the 20th century. Since 2010, the district museum of local history has been housed in the building.

Khoyniki. Avraamov's manor and park ensemble.

In the very center of the town of Khoyniki is a park with the Avraamov manor, or the owner is also called Abramov in some sources. A two-story brick house with a tower and a one-story building rises in the middle of a small park. The building was erected at the beginning of the 20th century by a wealthy merchant Andrei Abrahamov. The construction was completed in 1912, as we are told by the commemorative date on the facade. In Soviet times, the building housed an orphanage. The facades of the building are decorated with classicism and renaissance techniques, as well as some motifs of medieval castle architecture. Interior with a corridor layout, where the front group of rooms is highlighted.

And in September 2010, during the celebration of the Day of Belarusian Literature in Khoyniki, the building was handed over to the local history museum. The museum was founded in 1982. Among the exhibits are ceramic products of the 11th - 13th centuries, glazed ceramics of the 17th - 18th centuries from the excavations of the Khoyniki Castle. A separate exposition tells about the tragic pages of the Chernobyl disaster, which affected Khoynytskyi district. Around the manor there is a small park with a sculptural composition "People on the Swamp", based on the work of Ivan Melezh. People's writer I. Melezh comes from these places.
