The I. P. Melezh House Museum: the museum's exhibitions tell not only about the writer, but also introduce visitors to the history of this region.
The author of the famous book "People in the Swamp" was born in the village of Glinishche. Since then, these expanses have undergone significant changes due to extensive land reclamation, but the Ivan Melezh House Museum founded in this village allows you to plunge into the atmosphere of the past decades.
The museum's exposition highlights both the life of the writer himself and the history of the region. Here you can see Ivan Melezh's personal belongings, various editions of his works and vintage photographs.
The museum's exposition covers four halls.
In the first hall, household items of peasants are presented: a spinning wheel with flax tow, a churn, a rocking chair, a mortar and other things.
In the second hall, you can get acquainted with the history of the writer's family. Photographs of the writer's parents, relatives and teachers are on display here.
The third room contains paintings and furniture related to the author's life: a bookcase, a desk, a typewriter, as well as various photographs and paintings by artists.
In the fourth hall, you can see the writer's personal belongings and documents, his favorite clothes, and awards. In the windows you can see diplomas, congratulatory telegrams, postcards and works of the writer in different languages.
It is a very nice and interesting museum, which preserves authentic items and many documents about the writer's life.
