Zhodishki. Church of the Holy Trinity.
The town of Zhodishki has been known since the 16th century. Several architectural monuments have been preserved here, including the ancient Church of the Holy Trinity. The first church was founded in the 16th century by local owners of the town, representatives of the noble family of Ostikovič. At the end of the century, the next owners of the town, the magnates of Kishki, built a brick Protestant church - a Calvinist congregation. The building was built in the Renaissance style. Other sources report that at the beginning of the 17th century, the royal captain Christoph Kamar founded a Calvinist congregation.
In the middle of the 17th century, the church had three altars: Our Lady of Loreto, Saint Anne and the main altar in honor of the Holy Trinity. In the dungeons of the building, a crypt was made, where the founders of the church were buried. A hospital and a parish house (plebania) were built next to the church.
Over time, the Calvinist congregation was transferred to the Catholics. In the 19th century, a brick fence was built around the church. In 1902, side chapels were added to the church. During World War I, German troops organized a hospital in the church. During the Polish era, the famous Belarusian figure Vincent Godlewski (1888 – 1942) served here as a priest. In the 1930s, the interior of the church was painted by the famous Belarusian artist Pyotr Sergievich. The church is active.
The church is single-nave. Cross-shaped in plan. The main facade is flat. The interior is decorated with paintings. There are three altars.
