Vileika. Museum of Local Lore.

The Museum of Local Lore of Vileika offers a variety of exhibitions that cover the history, culture and nature of the region. Here you can find archaeological finds, ethnographic collections, as well as objects related to the history of Vileika and its surroundings.

Since 1993, the museum has operated an exposition based on a thematic and collectible approach, covering the sections "Time", "Origins", "Home", "School", "Suffering" and "Vileika", which illustrate the history and culture of the region from antiquity to the 20th century.

In 1997, a separate building was opened — the exhibition hall named after N. Silivanovich, a native of Vileyshchyna and an academician of painting. In 2014, the building of the exposition underwent major repairs, acquiring a modern and attractive appearance.

In March 2022, an additional section of the museum "Genocide of the Belarusian People" was opened, created with the support of the authorities. It includes materials on the investigation of crimes committed by SD officers, as well as documents on burned villages in the Vileysky district. The Silivanovich Exhibition Hall is actively working as a cultural and exhibition center, offering new exhibitions, meetings and educational projects. 

The Vileika Museum of Local Lore actively conducts excursions and educational events for schoolchildren and students, which contributes to the popularization of local history and culture. 

The museum is also a venue for various cultural events, exhibitions and workshops, which makes it an important center of the city's social life. He plays a key role in preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage of the Vileysky district, collecting and researching materials related to the history and traditions of the local population.
