Smolyany. Spas Church.
In Smolyany, on the way to the castle, you will see on the left the wooden church of the Savior, built in the 18th century. At first, the church belonged to the Unionists, and during the Russian Empire, it was handed over to Orthodox believers. In the 1930s, under the Soviet government, a local distillery was placed in the church.
The church was built in the Baroque style in the traditions of Belarusian wooden construction. The church consists of two parts: the lower brick part and the upper wooden part. Basically, the building is a rectangular log cabin 18 meters long and 13 meters wide. The height of the temple is about 22 meters. Choirs are located above the entrance of the temple, and on the dome in the interior there are 18th-century frescoes with the image of the 12 apostles. The apostles are depicted in full height. Made tempera paintings on boards. The main facade has two towers. The towers are multi-tiered. In recent years, the church has been renovated. There are several ancient icons in the church: "Wives - Myrrh Bearers" from the 18th century, "Coronation of the Mother of God" from the 18th century, "Crucifixion" from the 19th century, "Saint Nicholas" from the 19th century, "Last Supper" from the 19th century. There is also another brick church in the basement level.
