Ross. The Pototski-Branitski estate.
In the village of Ross, Volkovysk district, there are several architectural monuments and the remains of a manor house with a park.
In historical sources, Russia was first mentioned in the 16th century during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. At that time it was part of the Volkovysk district of the Novogrudok Voivodeship. The place belonged to the tycoons Khodkevich. First to Voivode Alexander Khodkevich of Novogrudok, and then to Grigory Khodkevich. Until 1617, Hieronymus Khodkevich was in charge here. In 1644, Jan Khodkevich and his wife Ekaterina from the Sapieha family sold Ross to Jan Rakovsky. And then they sold it to Yuri Karol Glebovich. Then the place passed to Oginsky. Then the Sapieha, Pototskis and Branitskis were the owners here.
There are many historical monuments and places in the village: the Potocki manor from the 18th to the 19th centuries, the chapel of St. Stephen from the beginning of the 20th century, the historical buildings of the village from the 19th to the 20th century, the Church of the Holy Trinity from the 19th century with the sculptural tombstone of Sofia Pototskaya, the synagogue and the Jewish cemetery, the Church of the Holy Trinity from the beginning of the 20th century.
The manor house in the village existed in the 17th-early 20th century. The palace in the manor was built in the 17th century. The building was a wooden one-story, T-shaped in plan. In the 18th century, a new palace was built. The main facade of the building was highlighted by a four-column portico with a triangular pediment. There was a landscape park nearby.
The park and several stone outbuildings with a watermill have been preserved to this day.
