Dvorishche. Water mill and homestead.
There is a small town Dvorishche in the Lida district. The first owners of this land were the Ilyinichi, then the Radzivils and the Vilnius bishop Valerian Protasevich. Shortly before his death, the bishop transferred the estate to the Jesuit collegium in Vilnius. And in the 17th century, the Catholic order of Jesuits created a farm in the town, which brought good income. After the ban of the Jesuit order, the property changed owners several times. In the 19th century, a major reconstruction of the estate was carried out by the Puslovskys, who built 2 factories here: a starch factory and a brewery. A new manor house was also built. The palace was built of wood with a stone foundation. The palace consisted of three parts. The building, which was in the middle, was 4-storeyed, and the two outer ones were two-storeyed. There were 30 rooms in the palace, and the heating was a furnace. The manor was badly damaged during the First World War and only a tall 4-story tower remained from it. The tower had 4 rooms. There was an observation deck on the top floor. On the territory of the manor there is also a stone water mill, which was bought by a Belarusian businessman a few years ago. The mill has already been restored. There is a restaurant and a museum. You can come here on vacation and enjoy unusual dishes. Souvenirs are also sold. Between the tower and the mill, a park and several farm buildings have been preserved.
