Ross. The Church of the Holy Trinity.
The Khodkevich magnates built the first Catholic wooden church in the town of Ross in the 16th century. Marcian Oginsky built a new church in the 17th century with 4 altars. There was a hospital and a school at the temple.
The stone church began to be built in 1770 at the expense of Count Efim Potocki and was completed only in 1807. In 1838, a wooden bell tower was erected nearby. In 1910, Stefan Potocki was buried in the crypt.
In 1924, the church was renovated and the roof was changed. A few years ago, the restoration of the monument took place.
The church is a monument of architecture in the classical style. A rectangular volume with a semicircular apse. The temple is single-nave. Above the entrance there are choirs, which are supported by 4 columns. There is an organ in the choir. In the altar part and on the walls there are picturesque compositions based on the biblical story, which were made at the beginning of the 20th century by Warsaw specialists from the workshop of Vladislav Tvarda. There are 12 apostles depicted on the walls; in the left chapel "The Miracle of St. Michael the Archangel"; in the right – "Our Lady of Angels". The main altar is two-tiered, which is divided by columns of the Corinthian order. The altar is decorated with gilded carvings with a sculpture of Mary and Jesus.
The marble tombstone monument to Sophia Pats (1849-1909) gives special interest to the church. After the fire in the temple in 1852, when the roof of the building was severely damaged, S. Pats donated funds for restoration. A few years later, the patron died, and after her death in 1881, her sarcophagus by the Italian sculptor Giulio Maschetti was installed in the church. The white marble tomb in Italy was ordered by S. Patz's niece.
The floor in the church was made of ceramic tiles in 1901. A two-tiered stone bell tower was erected near the temple in 1908.
