The former post and telegraph office building in Rechitsa is a prime example of the Art Nouveau architectural trend.
The architectural features of the former post and telegraph office building include rich decorative finishes, which harmoniously combine elements of classicism, neo-Baroque and other styles. In 1919, the local revolutionary committee was located here, and later the building was adapted for a children's music school.
The building has an L-shaped shape in plan and is characterized by plastically designed facades. The roof of the building is sloping and the perimeter is fenced with a simple lattice between low brick pillars. Adjacent to the main facade facing Sovetskaya Street is an extension with repeated architectural details in the facade decoration. It was built as a private house, which the city council rented from the owner August Kroeger for a postal and telegraph office.
In 1912, the first Modern electrotheatre in Rechitsa was opened in the annex to the house.
Currently, this building houses the district Department of Culture and the ecological and cultural center, which indicates its continued importance to the local community.
