In this museum, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the history of Belorusneft and the country's oil industry.

The Oil Museum in Rechitsa is not just a collection of exhibits, it is a story about people, about enthusiasm and about an important stage in the development of the Belarusian economy. The museum is a real treasure trove of the history of Belarusian oil production.

More than half a century ago, an oil field was discovered in the vicinity of the city, which became the starting point for the creation of the Belorusneft association in 1966. The museum's exposition tells the story of the industry's development.

Here you can learn about Mikhail Gromyko, a geologist who predicted the presence of oil in Belarus. His research, which began in the 1930s, was interrupted by repression, but his work was continued by other enthusiasts. After the war, thanks to perseverance and faith in success, the first well under Rechitsa finally produced oil in 1964, opening the Rechitsa field.

The museum features unique exhibits covering the period from the first geological surveys to the current stage of development of Belorusneft, an international energy company operating on three continents. Visitors can see documents, photographs, as well as miniature models of drilling rigs, rocking chairs, and other facilities of the enterprise. A significant part of the exhibition is presented in a virtual format on multimedia panels. They allow you to store much more information and keep it updated.

The Oil Museum provides an opportunity for guests to "peek" into an oil well, as well as undergo a symbolic ceremony of "initiation into the oil industry." Visitors will learn about the largest Belarusian oil fields, methods of their discovery, and the causes of development failures during the Soviet period. The tourists also get acquainted with the key stages of oil production and the people whose efforts today ensure an annual production volume of 1.6-1.7 million tons.

This educational tour can be completed at the 'Black Gold' cafe, located nearby, where you can optionally try the themed "Oil menu" to create an atmosphere of complete immersion in the topic.
