Nekhachevo. The building of the postal station.
In the village of Nekhachevo, Ivatsevichi district, there is a 19th-century post office building. The monument stands right on the R2 highway between Ivatsevichi and Bereza. And the M1 highway runs parallel, so it's not difficult to drive up and see the monument.
The building of the horse-mail station was built in 1846, and construction was carried out according to a standard design for the Warsaw highway on the Moscow - Warsaw route. In the 19th century, Nekhachevo had a postal station called Zapolye. The station was of the 1st category and was intended to stop traveling people during the trip and the station was designed for 60 horses.
The station consists of three single-storey buildings. The buildings are located on the same line. The buildings give way in depth and an E-shaped layout is obtained. The main building housed office space and living rooms for traveling people. The side buildings had a carriage house, a barn, and a stable. The lateral volumes of the building's axis were connected to the main building through walls with gates that led to the courtyard. There was a well in the center of the courtyard.
Nowadays, the architectural monument has been restored and a hotel complex is located here. The city also has an early 20th-century railway station and a WW-I military cemetery.
