Belavichi. St. Elijah's Church.
There is a wooden Orthodox church in the ancient village of Belavichi, Ivatsevichi district. During the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 15th century, the place belonged to Yushka Goitsevich.
Then it's the domain of Grand Duke Casimir. It was part of the Slonim district. Then it belonged to Glinsky, Czartoryski, Tyshkevich, Sapieha and other owners.
In 1630, the St. Elijah's Uniate Church was built. In the 18th century, a new temple was built in its place after a fire.
In Soviet times, after the Great Patriotic War, the church was closed in the 1960s. It was handed over to believers at the end of the Soviet Union, and after repairs in 1990, the shrine was consecrated again.
The monument was erected in the traditions of folk wooden handicrafts with elements of Baroque and classicism. The building consists of two main parts: a prayer hall and an apse. A four-pointed tower is built over the main facade. The interior features choirs and a wooden two-tiered iconostasis.
In front of the church in 1885, a three–tiered brick bell tower was erected. The massive lower tier of the gate is pierced by a wide archway.
