Goschevo. Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
In the village of Goschevo, Ivatsevichi district, there is an Orthodox church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which was built at the local cemetery. The first church here was built during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 16th century by the Elizaveta Tyshkevich–Savitskaya foundation. In the 17th century, the shrine was destroyed by fire. In 1692, Nikolai Tyshkevich financed the construction of a Dominican monastery, as well as a Catholic church.
During the time of the Russian Empire, a church in honor of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built on the site of the catholic church in 1838. The temple was renovated and rebuilt several times.
The building consists of two main parts: a prayer hall and an apse. A three-tiered bell tower is built above the vestibule, eight above eight. The main facade is flanked by four-sided towers at the edges. The main volume is covered by a gable roof and a hip roof above the apse. Above the main volume is an octagonal light drum with an onion dome. There are choirs in the interior. A communal prayer space. There is a crypt in the temple.
In 2009, the church was significantly rebuilt on the initiative of a local priest and the temple lost its distinctive architectural features. And as a result of the latest reconstruction, the iconic building was deprived of the status of an architectural monument.
