Polonechka. Watermill ruins.

In the Baranovichi district there is a place called Polonechka, where the palace and park ensemble that belonged to the Radziwills magnates has been preserved. A stone palace, a wooden church with a pleban and a stone mill from the 19th century have been preserved in the village.

Polonechka was first mentioned in historical sources during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 16th century. It was part of the Novogrudok district and belonged to the Rudamins-Dusyatskys.

The next owners were the Radziwill magnates, who built a stone palace with outbuildings in 17-19. The palace housed a large collection of art works, a numismatic collection, a library and an archive. The owner of the estate in the 18th century was the composer and playwright, statesman Matej Radziwill (1749 – 1800). In 1777, the Russian writer Denis Fanvizin came to visit Radziwill, who left notes about the place.

In 1751, a wooden church of St. George was built in Polonechka.

After the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Polonechka became part of the Russian Empire.

In 1819, a two-story stone mill built of rubble stone and brick was built on the outskirts of the town. The ruins of the building have been preserved to our time. A stone with the date of the building's construction is embedded in the wall of the mill.

The mill is located right on the way to the exit from Polonechka to Ishkol on the small river Zmeika (Little snake).
