A place where you can get acquainted with folk festivals and rituals, unique folklore, original crafts, national costumes, cuisine of the Pinsk region.

The center was founded with the aim of researching, preserving and developing the traditional culture of Polesie. Its creation became possible thanks to the efforts of local scientists, ethnographers and activists seeking to preserve the unique rituals, crafts and language of the people.

Poleshuki (Polesie people) is known for its centuries-old history, which connects them with unique nature, folklore and handicraft art. The center has 9 exhibition halls, which house more than 250 exhibits. The exhibits presented here, like a book, tell the story of Polesie.

The Center hosts various exhibitions of works by masters of decorative and applied arts and folk art, workshops and cultural events that help local residents and tourists to get acquainted with the richness of traditional culture. Visitors can observe the processes of making traditional crafts such as weaving, wood carving and pottery. The focus is also on folk music and dancing, which allows for a better understanding of the Poleshuk lifestyle. Here you can see the unique folk rituals of the area: a fragment of the wedding ceremony "Skoki on lavas", the Trinity rite "Vajenne of the bush", the Yuriev rite "Kachanne of the race", the rite "Zaseyki gurkoy".

The Center is actively engaged in educational activities, holding lectures and seminars for students and teachers. Its tasks include involving young people in the study of traditional culture and linguistic heritage, which contributes to their preservation for future generations.

The center of traditional culture and everyday life in the village of Merchitsy is an important link in the preservation and development of the cultural heritage of the region. It not only draws attention to the traditions of the Poleshukes, but also promotes cultural exchange between generations and different peoples. Visiting this center is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique world of traditional art and culture of Polesie.
