The Khlyudinsky estate in Leskovichi.

The history of this place is inextricably linked with the name of the nobleman Vladislav Khlyudinsky, who planned to build a magnificent castle on a hill above the lake. The dreams did not come true: the outbreak of the First World War interrupted construction, and the post-war years forced the owner to leave his native lands.

Today in Leskovichi we can see the remnants of the former greatness. On the way there are the overgrown ruins of the Khlyudinsky stable, and a little further stands the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in 1878 with a difficult fate – in the Soviet years it served as both a club and a granary.

Continuing on the way, on the right you can see the surviving watchman's house, in which people still live. Beyond it, the road turns to Lake Leskovichi. Once upon a time, a lime alley was planned here for the carriages of a nobleman, the hundred-year-old lime trees still preserve the memory of those times.

Before turning to the lake, there is a landscaped beach on the left, and a path goes deep into the forest on the right. After walking about a kilometer along it, the lake begins to peek through the trees, and then the manor itself – it is impossible not to notice it. It is located on a small hill in a quiet location, hidden from all sides by trees.

The castle walls, built of stones with brick inserts, are amazing. A lot of work was put into selecting each stone! These unusual walls are the main distinguishing feature of the estate. The building also stands out for its unusual layout and corner towers. Today, three dilapidated towers remain: today they are like witnesses of their former beauty and scope.

Overall, this is an interesting atmospheric place where you can take beautiful photos.

These ruins are impressive. They keep the history set in stone.…
