Brest. The Regional Museum of Local Lore.

The regional Museum of Local lore has two permanent exhibitions: "Native nature" and "The history of Brest region from the primitive communal system to the beginning of the XXI century."

The exhibition "Native Nature" is located in three halls. It represents the main groups of plants and animals living in the Brest region, as well as demonstrates the natural landscapes of the region.

The historical exposition occupies nine halls and offers visitors unique objects such as stone idols of the X–XI centuries, knight's armor, samples of weapons, clothing and furniture, hoards of coins of the XV—XVIII centuries, the current reconstruction of the printing press of the XVI century.

The museum also boasts two dioramas.: "A Neolithic settlement of hunters and fishermen on the Yaselda River in the IV–III millennium BC." and a diorama of the Zaosye farm, where the great poet Adam Mickiewicz was born. The visitors' attention is attracted by the reconstruction of a 1912 passenger carriage compartment using a slide show on the Brest-Litovsk-Luninets route.

An important place in the exhibition is occupied by a set of materials dedicated to the First World War and the conclusion of the Brest Peace Treaty. Here you can see an installation of a trench, a model of an airship, as well as authentic weapons, awards, documents and photographs of that time.

The structure of the Brest Regional Museum of Local Lore includes four branches: the archaeological museum "Berestye", the art Museum, the museum "Saved Art Treasures" in Brest and the museum in Kamenetskaya Vezh in Kamenets.

The Brest Regional Museum of Local Lore is an important cultural center that preserves and demonstrates the rich historical and natural heritage of the region.
