Starodevyatkovichi. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Church.
In the village of Starodevyatkovichi, Slonim district, a wooden Orthodox church was built, which was consecrated in honor of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa.
The first church in the village was built during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1675. In 1779, a new church was built on a stone foundation.
During the time of the Russian Empire, a new Orthodox wooden church of St. Paraskeva Friday was built. The temple was built in 1820 by the foundation of the landowner Wojciech Puslovsky. After the Great Patriotic War, the church was closed in Soviet times. It was only at the end of the USSR's existence in 1989 that church services were allowed again.
The monument was erected in the traditions of wooden folk architecture with elements of classicism. The building consists of two main architectural parts: a prayer hall and an apse. The main facade is decorated with four Doric order columns and a triangular pediment. A cruciform drum rises above the facade, which is completed with a helmet-shaped dome. The main volume is covered by a gable roof.
A two-tiered octagonal bell tower was built in front of the church. The church has been renovated in recent years.
