Replya. Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The town of Replya begins its history from the 16th century. Over the centuries, many famous owners have been owners here: Adakhovsky, Yasensky, Masalsky, Scipions and Volovichi.

At the beginning of the 17th century, the first Catholic parish was founded and a wooden church was built. In 1731, Hetman Mikhail Masalsky financed a new church.

In 1902-1909, a stone Catholic church was built in the village, which was consecrated in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The building was built in the Neo-Gothic style. The main facade is decorated with two multi-tiered telescopic towers. The first tier of towers is four-sided, and the second is octagonal. The towers are completed with tents.

There is a stepped shield with pinacles between the towers. The same shield is located above the apse part of the temple. The main entrance is located in the center of the facade. There is a rose window above the entrance. There are window openings on the side facades, with buttresses between them. The contrast of red brick with white plaster gives the temple a special beauty. The interior is divided into three naves. There are several Neo-Gothic wooden altars and an ambon, which was previously used for sermons.

The church is surrounded by a rubble stone fence around the perimeter. In recent years, the church has been renovated.
