Gudevichi. Literary and Local History Museum.
In the village of Gudevichi, Mosty district, there is a stone Orthodox church and a museum of local lore.
The literary and local history Museum in the center of the village is unique and unrepeatable. This village museum has many exhibits that would be the envy of city museums. The museum was created thanks to the efforts and selfless work of Belarusian language and literature teacher Ales Belokoz.
The museum was created on the basis of the school museum of local lore. The museum opened its doors in 1968. Students of A. Belokoz and the teacher himself began collecting ethnographic materials in their village and in the surrounding area. They started writing letters to famous Belarusian artists and writers, poets and historians asking them to send their own work, or an autographed manuscript, or just write a letter with kind words.
And they managed to collect a lot of unique exhibits, for example, there is a pen in the exhibition, which was used by the classic of Belarusian literature Vladimir Korotkevich. At first, the museum operated in one hall. With the opening of the new school in 1981, the old school building was transferred to the museum. The 4th hall has been operating here since 1984.
In 1980, a wooden village house from the 18th century was moved to the museum. Then they put an old barn building near the house. Over time, a hall called "Folk Medicine" was created at the museum, where during excursions A. Belokoz not only talked about the medicinal plants of the area, but also distributed flint to all interested tourists to make healing flint water.
Today, the museum has 11 halls and many unique exhibits.
