If you want to plunge into the world of traditions and culture of the Belarusian Polesie, then you should definitely visit the Paleskaya Veda Museum, a branch of the Mozyr United Museum of Local Lore.
Opened in 1999, this museum passes on the spiritual heritage of the Poleshooks to the descendants. The name "Paleskaya Veda" (Knowledge of Polesie) reflects the depth of knowledge about the world and man inherent in this unique region.
The museum's exposition, located in halls with a total area of 184 m2, recreates a picture of the life of Polesie peasants. Here you will see a rich collection of towels, traditional clothes, tools and household items. The museum exhibits, and there are more than 180 of them, will tell you about the ancient customs and rituals, about the worldview and values of the people who inhabited this land.
Paleskaya Veda is an opportunity to touch the history, feel the connection with the ancestors and learn more about the unique culture of the Belarusian Polesie.

The Museum of Folk Culture of the Mozyr region, called Paleskaya Veda, began its work in 1999. Reflecting the uniqueness of the region, this museum functions as a center for ethnocultural and local history research, implementing a comprehensive program to explore the local cultural space.


The very name "Veda", referring to the ancient Aryan "Vedas", implies a set of knowledge: mythological, astrological and folklore ideas about the world order and the place of man in it, characteristic of the original Mozyr Polesie.
