Mozyr. St. Nicholas Church

After the October Revolution, during the struggle against religious cults, the church was demolished. It was soon decided to build a brick building for DOSAAF on its ruins. During the Soviet period, this building was used for various purposes. In 1993, it was handed over to Orthodox believers, and it was decided to turn it into a church in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. For this purpose, onion domes were built on top of the church, giving the building a traditional look.

The renovation work was completed in 1995, and in 1996 the church was consecrated by the episcopal rank. It is currently an active Orthodox church. St. Nicholas Church is one of the most unusual religious buildings in the city, as its architecture does not comply with the canons of Orthodox architecture.

The building is designed in the constructivist style. Its round risalite resembles a half-tower and ends with a platform with panoramic windows. During the renovation, a four-sided light drum topped with a metal belvedere with a dome was added to this composition. The unusual features of the building are also given by the landscape. The building is located on the slope of a hill, and beautiful stone stairs lead to it.
