Minsk. The island of birds.

The Island of birds invited its first visitors in 2010. Initially, it was planned to visit only groups with a guide, and even an entrance gate was installed. Soon, the island became accessible to everyone at any time of the day.

The island of birds is connected to the city by a 60-meter bridge, which is illuminated at night by spectacular illumination. The pier offers a beautiful view of the Victory Park embankment. 

There are two information stands in front of the entrance to the island.: One of them tells about the birds that live in the capital's parks, the other about the feathered guests of the city's reservoirs.

Raised paths have been installed on the island to preserve the ecological balance and create comfortable conditions for birds. These paths seem to float in the air, minimizing the impact on the natural environment. Walking along such paths, there is a feeling that the path is suspended in the air, if you look closely, you can see that it is raised and does not give a load to the ground. Paths encircle the entire island, and in the branches of the trees you can see a large number of birdhouses of different sizes. Some of them are designed not only for birds, but also for bats and squirrels.

The air here is fresh and the atmosphere of the forest kingdom is pleasantly soothing and relaxing. Benches are set up in the shade of the trees, and at the far end of the island there is a wooden observation deck from which it is convenient to observe the behavior of birds.

From the shores of the island there is a view of Minsk from the water.

Birds such as sparrows, mallards, river gulls, silver gulls, nightingales, blackbirds, chickadees, finches live here.

There is an amazing silence on the island and only the polyphonic chirping of birds can be heard. The island is well maintained and equipped. Behind the bridge, you can see equipped beaches with umbrellas and gazebos, and there is also a small stage where concerts, theatrical performances and other cultural and entertainment events take place. There are also many cafes on the territory of the recreation area, where you can quench your thirst on a hot summer day.

A sunny day enhances the impression of visiting the island, and in the late evening and at night the place seems uninhabited, the light comes only from the pier.

The island of birds is a wonderful place that brings peace to the soul, where you can walk, listen to birds singing and breathe the air of your favorite city!
