Description
The Republican Theatre of Belarusian Drama is a drama theatre in Minsk.
The Theatre Laboratory of Belarusian Drama was established in 1990 with the aim of providing practical assistance to novice Belarusian playwrights in comprehending the laws of the stage. The first director of the theater was the Honored Artist, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus Valery Mazynsky.
The theater, justifying its purpose, conducts individual work with playwrights, conducts rehearsals, acting and stage readings of plays by roles, seminars with the involvement of directors and other theater specialists, promotes the professional development of young authors. About four dozen young authors have already passed the Belarusian Drama Theater School.

The Republican Theatre of Belarusian Drama is an integral part of the cultural life of Belarus, which has earned recognition both in the country and abroad.
The theater is proud of the discovery of new talents in directing, as well as cooperation with leading directors of Belarus, among them: V. Mazynsky, V. Rayevsky, N. Dinov, V. Rasstrizhenkov, N. Pinigin, R. Talipov, V. Anisenko, A. Gartsuev, E. Kornyaga, E. Averkova and others.
People's Artist of Belarus Tatyana Markhel, Honored Artists of the Republic of Belarus Valentin Solovyov, Lyudmila Sidorkevich, Galina Chernobaeva and many others make a significant contribution to the development of the theater.
The theater is known far beyond the borders of Belarus, its achievements have been marked by numerous prestigious awards and the Grand Prix of international and republican festivals of theatrical art in Moscow, Cairo, Warsaw, Kherson, Yalta, Vologda, Irkutsk, Taganrog, Yevpatoria.
The theater has a Center for Belarusian Drama and Directing, which provides practical assistance to aspiring theater creators. The Center organizes internships, master classes, and seminars aimed at developing their talent.
In 2010, for high achievements in the field of theatrical art and contribution to the development of national culture, RTBD was awarded the title of "Honored Collective of the Republic of Belarus". The artistic director of the theater is Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Fedorovich Gartsuev, and the director is Svetlana Valentinovna Karyukina.
The theater's team, consisting of talented directors, artists, composers and actors, creates an amazing synthesis, making each performance a true spectacle. The chamber hall in which the productions take place brings the viewer closer to the action, making him practically a participant in the events. The atmosphere of mystery and emotional charge do not leave anyone indifferent.
