Krupki. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is a wooden structure topped with three onion domes, giving it a special beauty and grace. The architecture of the temple traces the traditions of Moscow architecture, characteristic of the construction of churches in the 19th century.

In plan, the temple has a cruciform shape, elongated in the longitudinal axis. The composition is formed by a vestibule with a bell tower, a spacious domed prayer hall and a triangular apse. The bell tower is located above the vestibule, from where the bells ring out over the surrounding area, summoning the faithful to prayer.

The history of the Orthodox church in the town of Krupki goes back to the distant past, mentioned in documents of the 19th century. Unfortunately, during the years of Soviet rule, the temple was irretrievably lost, and secular institutions are located in its place today.

But the faith and memory of the shrine have not faded. In 1993, with the blessing of Metropolitan Filaret of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, an Orthodox community was formed in Krupki, the purpose of which was to revive the temple. This was the beginning of a long and painstaking journey to restore the spiritual center of the city.

And so, on the eve of the Bright Resurrection of Christ in 1998, the first festive divine service was held in the new church. This event has become a symbol of the revival of spirituality and hope for the residents of Krupki.

Since 2002, a Sunday school has been operating at the temple, where children learn the basics of the Orthodox faith, Church history and traditions of piety. Sunday school is an important part of parish life, contributing to the spiritual and moral education of the younger generation.

The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Krupki is not just a restored building, it is a symbol of the rebirth of faith, hope and love. It is a place where people find solace, support and inspiration, where prayer is heard and the sacraments are performed, where the spiritual bond of generations is strengthened.
