Yarshevichi. Church of the Ascension of the Lord.

The village of Yarshevichi is located in the Volozhin district, a few kilometers to the right of the Minsk – Volozhin highway. A small river Yarshevka flows here, from which, apparently, the name of the place originates. Near the village there is an archaeological monument of the Iron Age settlement. The place was first mentioned in historical sources in the 15th century.

A wooden Uniate church was first built in the village, which was then handed over to Orthodox believers. During the time of the Polish state in the early 20th century, the temple was transferred to a church. This building was dismantled in the 1970s and 1980s, as it was in disrepair. Now a tombstone remains on the site of the former temple.

In the 1870s, a new stone Orthodox church was built, which was consecrated in honor of the Ascension of the Lord. The temple was built of stone according to a standard project of rubble stone. It consists of 4 main parts: a vestibule, a refectory, a prayer hall and a semicircular apse. Above the narthex there is a three-tiered bell tower, which is completed with a high spire with an onion. The refectory is covered with a gable roof, and the main volume is four-pitched, which is completed with an 8-sided drum with an onion. A rubble stone fence has been erected around the school. Since 1886, a parish school has been operating.

The church has been renovated in recent years.

Not far away on the farm of Vazginishki there was a manor house.

In 1975, the filming of the Soviet–German film "I Want to See You", about the events of the 1941 war, took place in this village. Many residents of the village starred in episodic moments of the feature film.
