Golynka. Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

In the Grodno region, in the town of Golynka, there is a Catholic area of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The town of Golynka is small and is part of the Sopotsky village Council. It is located on the very border with Poland, just one kilometer from the neighboring state.

After the partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795, the place immediately passed not to the Russian Empire, but to Prussia.

It has been part of Russia since 1815 after the war with Napoleon. It was an administrative part of the Augustovsky district, Suwalki province in the Kingdom of Poland. After the Peace of Riga in 1921, it was part of the Polish state of the Bialystok Voivodeship until 1939. Since 1939, it has been a part of Soviet Belarus.

The architectural dominant feature of the village is the stone Catholic church of the 18th century. The temple was originally built during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1714. The shrine belonged to the Uniate at that time.

The church was rebuilt during the time of the Polish state in 1922. The monument was erected in the neoclassical style. It has an elongated axial cross-centric composition. It consists of 4 main architectural parts. A three-tiered four-tiered bell tower was erected above the vestibule. A square drum rises above the main volume, which is covered with a four-pitched roof. The interior has three altars, and the walls are painted in marble.
