Tsvirovshchyna. Orthodox Chapel.

There is a stone Orthodox chapel in the village of Tsvirovshchyna in the Volozhinsky district. It is easier to get to this small village through the town of Slovensk.

Researchers believe that the name of the town of Tsvirovshchyna comes from the Baltic word "solid". On the outskirts of the village in the western direction there is an Orthodox chapel in the old cemetery.

The temple is made of stone and was built of brick and rubble stone in the late 19th – early 20th century. The architectural style is pseudo-Russian, which at that time was very popular in the territory of the Russian Empire. The building is square in plan and very compact. It has a tower-shaped volume, which is covered with a gable roof. There is an octagonal drum with an onion on the roof. The facade decor is based on the contrast of the unpainted rubble stone and pink brick. The entrance has a semicircular end, as do the windows in the side walls. The interior is neutral.

The chapel was looted in Soviet times. Forged metal crosses and a memorial plaque in Church Slavonic dedicated to Illarion Bukshtanovich, who died in March 1886, have been preserved in the interior.

The chapel is in a neglected state. Restoration is required.
