Vishnevo. Church of Cosmas and Damian.

If you go to Vishnevo from Volozhin, you will first pass an old cemetery, which will be on the left on the hill when entering the city. Then you will pass the former market square with the House of Culture, where three museums are located, including the Shimon Peres Museum, and on the left side of the road you will see 2 churches: in the distance a tall old Catholic church, which is definitely worth a visit. But first, look into the small Orthodox Church of Cosmas and Damian. The temple is small and quite typical for the 19th century in the Russian Empire. But in recent years, the church has been restored, and the area around the temple has been landscaped. Behind the church flows the Olshanka stream, and below the church there is a spring, and in recent years a beautiful font has been made here. The building is made of rubble and brick.

The church was built in 1865. The temple is surrounded by a brick fence. The church is an architectural monument of the pseudo-Russian style. The temple consists of 4 main parts: a vestibule-bell tower, a refectory, the main volume of the prayer hall and an apse. The bell tower is multi-tiered.

There is an old bell installed on the church grounds. The church is active. If the temple is closed, there is a priest's house nearby and you can ask to open the church.
