Initially, it was the personal collection of A. Zhdanovich, a resident of the city, located in her house. Over the years, the hobby has grown into a full-fledged local attraction, which has received a separate room. The museum began to organize workshops from local craftsmen and folk festivals, and the collection of exhibits was constantly replenished, surprising with its diversity.
Today, the museum's exposition has more than 340 copies. Each spoon is a real work of art.

Wooden Spoon Museum.

The collection of the museum of wooden spoons contains more than three hundred exhibits made of birch, oak, linden, buckthorn and even wolfberry. There are also ancient samples among them. The creations of modern masters are striking in their originality: here you can see pipe spoons, doll spoons and spoons for newlyweds. There are painted spoons, as well as spoons decorated with beads and straws, spoons with curly handles and carved figures, as well as musical spoons on which visitors can play.

Museum staff replenished the collection thanks to the campaign "Hand over one old spoon – get two new ones."

Thanks to the museum, the city hosts a regional holiday competition "Biarazin ski cars" every two years. The craftsmen demonstrate their best works, which are then transferred to the museum and compete in the art to impress the imagination of residents and visitors of the city.

This unusual museum is interesting because here you can not only see spoons of different sizes, styles and eras, appreciate the skill of wood carvers, but also try yourself as a creator of spoons made of various materials, as well as extract sounds from them, using them as musical instruments.

In addition, visitors will learn about folk signs associated with spoons, how they were used for medicinal purposes and for fortune-telling, and which spoon was necessarily taken with them on the road as a talisman.

The wooden spoon has become an unofficial symbol of Berezino. In 2016, the city was decorated with a 23-meter spoon created by three craftsmen. This huge, but at the same time elegant work of art immediately declared itself as a contender for a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest spoon in the world.

It's not just a giant wooden figure. It is decorated with many carvings bearing the symbols of birth and life, the coat of arms of Berezino and other signs created by local craftsmen.

This museum is an important cultural center of the city and invites everyone who is interested in the history and culture of the region.
