Zaslavl. Children's Museum of Mythology and Forests

The museum was inaugurated as part of the historical and Cultural museum-reserve "Zaslavl" in order to tell visitors about the rich mythology that surrounded the daily life of the ancient Slavs and residents of the Belarusian forests. The museum's expositions began to take shape from the end of the 20th century, and today it has become a popular tourist destination where legends and tales passed down from generation to generation come to life, preserving cultural heritage.

In the museum, children and adults will be able to touch nature, as well as learn more about the forest inhabitants: real and fictional. The museum has two main areas for visitors.

The first of them is a real forest area, where stuffed animals of various animals are presented. Here visitors will be able to see a hare, a marten, a squirrel and many other animals inhabiting the Belarusian forests. There are also stuffed animals of various birds, such as thrush, jay, swallow and many others. All this helps to visually demonstrate the natural resources of the region, creating an atmosphere of the forest. In the museum, children can not only see, but also hear the sounds of forest dwellers, which makes an additional impression and allows them to fully immerse themselves in the environment.

The second zone is mythological. Here visitors will meet amazing creatures from various myths and beliefs: a forester, a forest wolf, a ghoul, a brownie and a water one. Each of the presented sculptures is located in a specially recreated habitat, which allows you to fully reveal the characteristic features of each of the characters and give a complete picture of myths and legends.

One of the main advantages of the Children's Museum of Mythology and the Forest is its unique format, which combines educational and cultural aspects with theatrical and interactive elements. This is not just an exhibition of exhibits, but a full immersion into the ancient world of mythology and nature. Thanks to the audiovisual accompaniment, the artfully recreated atmosphere of the forest and the original exhibits, each visit to the museum becomes unforgettable and leaves vivid impressions.

The museum is located in Zaslavl and is available for visiting both as part of sightseeing tours and individually. It is open daily except Mondays and offers various programs designed for both children and adults. For the convenience of visitors, recreation areas are provided on the territory of the museum, as well as souvenir shops where you can buy products of local craftsmen and souvenirs related to Belarusian mythology.

The Children's Museum of Mythology and Forests is a place where everyone can feel like a part of ancient Belarusian legends. This is not just a museum that shows exhibits, but also a place to relive history. A visit to this unique facility will leave an indelible impression and help you better understand how our ancestors saw the world around them, filled with spirits and magic. Thanks to its long history and carefully thought-out exposition, the museum attracts many tourists and residents who want to join the cultural heritage of Belarus.
