The Vankovich Estate in Volma is a unique monument of classical architecture and landscape art of the 19th century.

The estate, located on the banks of the Volma river, is not just an architectural monument, it is the center of the cultural and spiritual life of its time, associated with the famous Belarusian Vankovich family. Here, among the greenery of the ancient park, it seems that time slows down, allowing you to feel the spirit of the past centuries.

The manor house was renovated a few years ago. Today, a modern "EthnoTechnoPark-Volma" is located on the territory. Here you can also see the preserved ruins of a tomb chapel, the picturesque remains of a landscape park, mostly planted with local tree species, although rare exotic species are also found. The office building and the kitchen wing, reminiscent of the former greatness of the estate, have survived to this day.

The estate was built at the end of the 18th century, after the acquisition of these lands by the Vankovich family, one of the most influential in Belarus. At the beginning of the 19th century, the Volma became a center of active cultural life. Meetings of artists, literature and science were held here.

It was in the Vankovich estate that a whole cultural phenomenon originated. The house became a place where famous artists, writers and thinkers gathered, forming important cultural and ideological trends. The Vankovichi not only supported culture, but also actively promoted the development of local education and spiritual life. Meetings were held in the manor, where issues of philosophy and morality were discussed.

The two-storey manor house, rectangular in plan, impresses with its monumentality and elegance. Thick meter-high walls with rectangular window openings decorated with simple architraves with rusticated lintels and sandricks reliably preserve the history of this place. The central part of the facade is highlighted by four pilasters rising on two floors, and ends with a strict triangular pediment. The windows are decorated with sandricks.

Vaulted basements have been preserved under the building, which once served as food storage. After the war, the manor was restored, although the four-column portico, unfortunately, was lost.

Today, the Vankovich estate in Volma is a popular tourist destination. Here you can not only see the architectural features of the estate, but also enjoy the surrounding nature.

A visit to the Vankovich estate is a unique opportunity to touch the history and culture of Belarus.
