The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Cherikov is an important historical monument of the city.

Two churches occupy a significant place in the history of the city of Cherikov.

The first of them, wooden, was built at the end of the 18th century. But, unfortunately, he did not live to this day.

The second church was made of stone. It was consecrated, according to various sources, in 1856 or 1869.

The stone church in the name of the Virgin Mary served the faithful until the middle of the 20th century. In 1950, the temple was closed, the building underwent reconstruction, as a result of which it began to resemble a secular building. After that, the building was transferred to the House of Culture. Since then, the issue of returning the church to its original appearance and reopening the temple has been repeatedly raised.

It was not until 2019 that the building was returned to the restored Catholic community.

Today, the building remains one of the main historical monuments of the city. The architectural style of the building combines elements of Neo-Romanesque, Neo-Gothic styles and late classicism. This combination of styles and forms creates a harmonious and expressive architectural solution that reflects the historical and cultural traditions of the region.

The building has a long rectangular volume with a pointed roof, to the back of which is attached a pentagonal apse.

Today, the church remains an important object of Cherikov's cultural heritage, attracting both locals and tourists interested in history and architecture.
