Ratomka. "A house with devils".
Landmark
Minsk region, Ratomka, Lyneinaya St. 9
Description
In Ratomka, among the typical summer cottages, there is a "House with devils" - a mystical mansion that its creator Denis Korobov has been building since 2015. Thousands of skulls on the facade, carved doors (two years handmade!) and dozens of "guardian" figures on the fence turned an ordinary cottage into a place of pilgrimage for tourists. The neighbors wrote complaints in shock, and the children come here for "open lessons". The owner dreams of opening an art space with cafes and souvenirs here. An ideal place for photo shoots and a meeting with a real fairy tale (or mysticism, whichever you like).

"House with devils" in Ratomka: the estate that Denis built
Twenty minutes from Minsk, in the village of Ratomka on Lyneinaya Street, 9, there is one of the most unusual sights of Belarus. Locals call it the "House with devils", tourists call it a portal to fantasy, and the owner, Denis Korobov, simply calls it his home and the embodiment of a creative dream.
Among the typical country houses here stands a black Gothic mansion, the facade of which is decorated with thousands of skulls, and dozens of bizarre figures sit on the fence.
It all started in 2015. Denis, a builder and designer by training, decided that his apartment would not look like the neighbors. Every detail here is created manually. For example, the carved oak doors were carved for about two years. The skulls on the facade are not real, but artfully executed sculptures made of concrete. The owner himself calls it philosophy and an attempt to make friends with the theme of death through art.
The most controversial elements are the figures on the fence. The neighbors dubbed them devils and demons and greeted the project without enthusiasm. There were complaints to the authorities, threats, and even an incident with pepper spray. But Denis calls them "guardians". Each character is born spontaneously: under the influence of a book, music, or a random thought. According to the idea, they protect the house from boredom and routine.
The conflict with the neighbors only fueled interest. People began to flock to the house. The most curious incident occurred when the owner came out with coffee and found a group of schoolchildren at the gate. At his question, they hissed and whispered: "Hush! We have an open lesson here".
Inside, the house is also unique: there is a "staircase of souls", stained glass windows made of exotic glass, and even a future nursery, which Denis plans to decorate in a pirate style.
Despite the difficulties, the owner has big plans. He dreams of turning the estate into a public space: holding creative evenings, photo shoots, opening a souvenir shop and cafe. But first you need to complete the construction, remove the scaffolding and finish the installations.
The "House with devils" has become a mirror of society: it showed how hard it is for us to accept dissimilarity, and how tired people are of typical architecture. This place is proof that even in an ordinary village you can create a man-made miracle if you are not afraid to go against the current.
