The Church of St. Anthony of Padua and the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky are important spiritual shrines of Maryina Gorka.
The Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Maryina Gorka is a building with an interesting history. Built in the first half of the 20th century, it was not originally intended for religious purposes, but served as a power plant. It was only in the 21st century that the building found its true vocation, becoming a place of spirituality and faith for Catholics.
In 2012, Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz consecrated the building, giving it the name of St. Anthony of Padua, which marked the appearance of the first Catholic church in the district center. Since then, the church has become an important center of the religious life of the city.
The church is particularly proud of its icons, which are deeply revered by the faithful. Here you can see images of the Mother of God of Ostrobramskaya, known for her miraculous power, and St. Anthony, the patron saint of the needy. It is to worship these shrines that pilgrims come not only from Belarus, but also from other countries.
Visiting the Church of St. Anthony of Padua is an opportunity to touch the shrines and feel the atmosphere of spirituality and grace.
Visit also the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky in Maryina Gorka. It is located at 55 Novaya Zarya Street (coordinates: 53.505681, 28.157185).
For a long time, Maryina Gorka was the only regional center in Belarus without an Orthodox church. The Alexander Nevsky Church was built and consecrated in 2010. It is a cathedral. It is made in a retrospective Russian style.
It preserves the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Maryinogorskaya", the icon of St. Alexander Nevsky with a fragment of his relics, and the icon of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk with a fragment of her relics.
Today it is an important spiritual and cultural center for Maryina Gorka.
