Lipnishki. The Church of St. Casimir.

The town of Lipnishki has been known since the 15th century, and during the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania it was part of the Oshmyansky district. The first church here was founded back in 1510 with a donation from King Sigismund I the Old.

The first temple was wooden, rebuilt several times and burned down. The church was rebuilt again by the owners of the town of Lipnishki: Bezborodko, Puslovsky and Volsky. The last wooden church burned down at the end of the 19th century. There was a school at the temple.

The first stone church was built in Lipnishki on the market square, where a roadside chapel had previously been built. In 1892, the project of the provincial architect Polozov was approved. According to some sources, the brick church was built already in 1900, and according to other sources, in 1910. The Archbishop of Vilna consecrated the church in honor of St. Casimir.

The church is surrounded by a brick rubble stone fence. And the main entrance to the sanctuary is decorated with three-arched gates in the Neo-Gothic style. The church is built of brick and faced with granite. Rectangular in plan with a three-sided apse. A three-tiered tower rises above the entrance to the temple. Several ancient tombs have been preserved near the church, including representatives of the Volsky family.

A brick chapel can be seen on the shopping area. The shopping malls were built in the same Neo-Gothic style, but unfortunately they have not survived to our time.
