Lipnishki. Volsky Manor.
The town of Lipnishki was originally the property of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and has been known since the 15th century. Since the 16th century, Lipnishki belonged to the Gasthold magnates, then to the Patsy and the Sapieha. In the 17th century, the city received Magdeburg rights from the King of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Vladislav Vasa. After the third partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795, Lipnishki became part of the Russian Empire, and Empress Catherine II transferred Lipnishki to Prince A. Bezborodko. And he, in turn, sold the city to V. Puslovsky. And Puslovsky's sons sold him to the Volskys.
The Volskys began to rule the Lipnishki in 1849. The new owners have built a cozy and beautiful family estate with a park. According to researchers, three generations of Volskys painstakingly developed and built Lipnishki, and it was under them that the city flourished. During the time of Nikolai Volsky, shopping malls were built in the Neo—Gothic style - after the war they were demolished. The construction of the church of St. Casimir was carried out on the donation of Alexander Volsky. According to one version, he brought the project of this church from Paris. The family estate is also being built in the Neo-Gothic style. The building was wooden, one-story, with an attic. And nearby there were several outbuildings and a large beautiful park. Until our time, only the brick wing for employees ('afitsyna') with a tower and a park has been preserved. The site of the former manor house can be found by driving from the church across the lake along Vilenskaya Street in search of a kindergarten. There is an outbuilding to the right of the garden.
