Trockeli. Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The first church was built in Trockeli in the 15th century, when the town belonged to Jan Gastold. The Catholic Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was founded here by the Vilnius governor Martin Gastold in 1500. The church was destroyed during the war in the mid-17th century. A new church was built in 1680 by the Catholic Jesuit order. The current church was built in 1809 on the site of the former one, with money from Stefan Nezabytowski (a Polish and Lithuanian military leader, a local landowner).
In 1928, the building was repaired and rebuilt. During the Soviet era, believers managed to defend their shrine and did not allow the church to be closed, moreover, the church was repaired. Since 1997, the area around the church has changed significantly. A canopy was built outside the church in front of the church for services during pilgrimages.
The church is considered a monument of wooden architecture with elements of Baroque and Classicism. The temple has 3 two-tiered altars. The choirs above the entrance are supported by four columns. The main altar is made in the neo-Baroque style. The altar contains the miraculous icon of the 16th century "Our Lady of Trokelskaya". This icon is considered one of the most revered in Belarus among Catholics.
Next to the church, a two-story bell tower with an ancient bell from the 18th century was built. Every year on the first Saturday of July, a festival is held at the temple, which attracts thousands of pilgrims from all regions of Belarus. Around the church, artificial ponds, paths and numerous flower beds are laid out.
