The Cherven Regional Museum of Local Lore promotes a deeper study of the Cherven district and a conscious journey through these wonderful places.

The museum includes three halls: "The Igumen antiquity", "The Great Patriotic War in the Cherven region" and "Cultural Achievements of the Cherven region".

In the hall "Igumen in ancient times" visitors immerse themselves in the world of legends related to the history of Igumen (as Cherven was called until 1923), get acquainted with the materials of archaeological excavations. The exhibition tells about the development of industry, crafts, trade, education, and healthcare. It reflects the peculiarities of the national and confessional composition of the population of Igumen district. Here, visitors are shown the gradual formation of Soviet power and economic recovery. With the help of museum objects, visitors will learn about the history of the Cherven district in the period between liberation from Polish occupation and the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

In the hall "The Great Patriotic War in the Cherven region", through photographic documents and other materials, the participation of natives of the city in combat operations at the front, in popular resistance in the rear, and anti-fascist activities in the territory of the Chervensk district is shown. Here you can also get acquainted with the exhibits during the restoration of the national economy in the post-war period.

A separate part of the exhibition is devoted to the theme of entography and everyday life of Belarusian peasants of the early 19th and 20th centuries. Here you can get acquainted with household items, learn about the traditions of farmers, tools, and national cuisine. National Belarusian costumes, embroidery and weaving are presented in the same hall.

The exhibition ends with a set of materials dedicated to famous countrymen: composer Stanislav Monyushko, artist Chaim Soutine, writers Mikhail Penkrat and Nikolai Vershinin, Olympic champion Valery Shary, cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky and many other natives of the Cherven region.

A small section of the exhibition presents the nature of the native land.

In addition to permanent exhibitions, the museum offers exhibitions, presents paintings, entography, folk art, and collections of fellow countrymen. The museum organizes walking tours of the city, traveling exhibitions, museum and pedagogical classes with schoolchildren and lectures in groups.

Among the exhibits of the museums, is impressive the seal of podscarby (treasurer) Hieronymus Crispin-Kirshenstein, who lived in the 17th century, forged axes of the 14th century and an entographic collection.

The legend of the Greek abbess, who founded an Orthodox monastery, adds romance to the history of the city.

The Cherven Regional Museum of Local Lore is the starting point that promotes a deeper study of the Cherven district and a conscious journey through these wonderful places.
